Volunteer Cuddlers “Bring Calmness” to Hectic NICU

Nikki Conkings is familiar with the sights and sounds of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her son spent three weeks in the NICU 34 years ago in the same hospital where she currently volunteers as a “cuddler.” She spends hours rocking, singing and comforting newborn babies when their parents are unable to.
