MTA Installs Locked Turnstiles, Forcing Riders to Pay

Metro is locking turnstiles at certain stations, in an effort to thwart commuters who illegally cut through for free rides. The former CFO of LA’s Metro system thinks that without guards at the stations, riders may still hop the turnstiles and avoid paying a toll.
