An unprecedented task force of homicide investigators worked 24-7 during the scorching summer a quarter century ago to identify the satanic serial killer feared as the Night Stalker. Detectives Frank Salerno and Gil Carrillo led the la Sheriff’s squad; Paul Tippin and Leroy Orozco were lead investigators for LAPD. Now a PI with his own firm Salerno & Scully, Salerno sat down with NBCLA’s Patrick Healy to re-live the case.
