Proposed Budget Cuts Target Disabled, Poor Californians

Daniel Garcia and his wife are disabled and rely on in-home supportive services, a program proposed to be cut $224 million. If they lost that support, Garcia says they would have to go to nursing home. “Enough is enough,” he says. Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed budget comes as California tries to cope with an anticipated deficit that’s soared to $16 billion. Patrick Healy reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on May 14, 2012.
