Sister Fights to Stay Bedside With Special Needs Relative

Anthony has Down syndrome and for the last six days, he has been at Loma Linda Medical Center. Anthony’s sister, at his bedside, says she had to fight to be there. John Cádiz Klemack reports for NBC4 News at 4 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2021. The exception the hospital made follows the guidelines set forth by the California Department of Public Health. The presence of a support person is essential to patients with physical, intellectual, and/or developmental disabilities and patients with cognitive impairments. CDPH recommends that one support person be allowed to be present with the patient. For more information go here and here.
