OC Whale Watching: “Better Than Amusement Park”

Ocean gawkers whale watching off Dana Point were treated to a spectacular sight: several of the world’s largest animals feeding close to the Orange County coast. Capt. Dave Anderson says the blue whale’s population is shrinking, but sightings are on the rise because pods are moving closer to shore – making them more vulnerable to ship traffic and getting caught in fishing nets. Lucy Noland reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2012.
