Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department

Two Sought in Kidnapping of Children Whose Mother Was Found Dead

One of the two people sought in a kidnapping of three young children is the sister of their mother whose body was found on a road north of Los Angeles two weeks ago.

Detectives on Tuesday sought the public's help to find Joshua Robertson and Brittany Humphrey in the kidnapping of the children, ages 2, 3, and 5. The two are also wanted in the questioning of the children's mother, Kimberly Harvill, whose body was found on a remote road in the Grapevine on Sunday.

The children's godmother, who only identified herself as Michelle, said she is worried sick.

"I'm scared," she said. "I'm worried about them I'm wanting them to be found alive and OK. I want answers. I can't sleep. I haven't slept in days."

Robertson and Humphrey were last seen with Harvill's three children and have fled the state, sheriff's officials said in a news release.

A warrant has been issued for their arrest.

Robertson has a criminal history, is on probation and has a previous arrest for possession of a firearm.

Robertson and Humphrey are also wanted for questioning in Harvill's death, but Michelle believes Humphrey had nothing to do with it.

"She loved her sister and she loves those babies," she said. "The fact that she's missing is just as concerning as the fact their mother is dead. And my (grand) babies are missing. There's no way that Brittany had anything to do with it."

They are believed to be driving the victim's silver 1999 Ford Expedition, and may bear CA license plate #7BEK024, or paper plates.

The suspects are believed to be traveling with the victim's three minor children out of state.
