Man Arrested After Surveillance Captures Hit-and-Run in McDonald's Parking Lot

In the video, the woman walks with a hunch as she makes her way out of a business and into the parking lot. Once the woman is in the parking lot, the car is seen driving in reverse and knocking the woman to the ground.

A 24-year-old man surrendered to police after surveillance video showed him allegedly reversing his car in a McDonald's parking lot and striking an elderly woman before driving away, police said Friday.

Taylor Kirby, of Signal Hill, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run Thursday night, Huntington Beach police said.

Kirby is accused of being behind the wheel of a grey Dodge Challenger that was caught on camera striking an 85-year-old woman in a parking lot on April 22, police said.

Police said they identified the driver as Kirby and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He then surrendered to the Huntington Beach Police Department Thursday night, police said.

In the video, the woman walks with a hunch as she makes her way out of a business and into the parking lot. Once the woman is in the parking lot, the car is seen driving in reverse and knocking the woman to the ground.

A passenger can be seen getting out of the car to check on the woman, and the victim's husband, who was holding a cane, appears to urge the male driver to also get out of the car.

The driver seen in the video gets out of the car, looks on at the woman at the ground before he and the passenger get back in the car and drive away.

Kirby was booked and released after posting bail, and he is due in court on June 30.
