A minivan driver was arrested early Wednesday after leaving the scene of a hit-and-run crash in the Mid-City area and slamming into a nearby house.
No injuries were reported, but the driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
The initial crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on the 10 Freeway near the Vermont Avenue exit. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash followed the driver until the man crashed into a house in the 1600 block of Norton Avenue.
"The next thing I know, I see a car in my door," said resident Betty Monroy.
The hit-and-run driver ran from the location, but was taken into custody.
Family members said they were sleeping when they heard a "boom." The minivan jumped a curb and crashed through a fence before colliding with the front of the house.
The impact damaged the wall of a bedroom and the front door.
"There's a girl whose bedroom is right next to that door," a neighbor told NBC4. "My first reaction was, 'Something happened to her.' I ran inside the house and everyone was ok."
