“Two Lifeless Children” Revived After Heroes Make Burning House Rescues

A mom and her two young children were dragged to safety Wednesday night in San Bernardino by three neighbor men who risked there own lives and raced into the burning home to save the family of three.

Around 5 p.m. fire broke out in the kitchen at 4599 Sierra Way.  A mother and her two children, ages 2 and 5, where quickly overwhelmed by flames and smoke.

That's when three men risked everything and ran into the burning home.  Each one of the three men dragged a member of the family to safety.  One hero, Keyonta Montgomery, was asked why he risked his life.  Montgomery said, "I heard babies cry, I had to save the babies."  The other two rescuers identified themselves as Kelcey Burton and Aaron Lutton.

San Bernardino City Fire spokesman Jason Serrano said the "two children were lifeless" after being rescued.   Eyewitness Melinda McClain said she and rescuers used CPR to bring the kids back to life.

It seemed like the whole neighborhood came together to rescue the family.

The children were admitted to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition.  Both were placed in the burn ward.
