The county medical examiner’s office has confirmed to NBC 7 that the body found in a car earlier this week is that of a local 23-year-old woman who was reported missing.

On Thursday, homicide detectives were called to an area of Kearney Mesa south of State Route 52 for a report of a suspicious death.

San Diego police officers were in the 7700 block of Convoy Court following up on a missing persons case when they discovered a woman dead inside a parked Toyota Camry. Police said the body appeared to have sustained some suspicious trauma.

On Saturday, the medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Grace Ann Hall, 23. Her cause of death has not yet been released.

According to the Department of Motor Vehicles and the SDPD, the Toyota Camry found at the scene is registered to Hall.

A bulletin issued on Wednesday by the San Diego Police Department identified Hall as a missing person, describing her as a white female, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds with blond hair and hazel eyes.

According to the SDPD bulletin, Hall was last seen around 8 p.m. on Mar. 20 driving a grey Toyota Camry in the 9100 block of Rebecca Avenue in Serra Mesa.

Hall was supposed to travel to Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles for a job interview. At the time the police bulletin was issued, investigators did not know if Hall had ever arrived in Sherman Oaks as planned.

Police say Hall’s credit card had been used in Mira Mesa since her disappearance, but hadn’t been used since Mar. 27.

When Hall's body was discovered on Thursday, homicide detectives and the ME were called to the scene to assist in the investigation. Officers cordoned off a section of the street where the car was found.

Further details on Hall’s death have yet to be released. Check back for updates on this developing story.
