Fatal Crash Closes Part of 101 Freeway in Studio City

A crash that killed one person and injured two other motorists closed part of the eastbound 101 Freeway through Studio City early Thursday morning.

The two-vehicle crash near Coldwater Canyon Avenue was reported at 3:44 a.m. One man died at a hospital.

Details regarding the injured crash victims' conditions were not immediately available. Two of the injured victims were rescued by firefighters from a Toyota sedan.

They remained hospitalized.

All lanes were closed for the initial investigation, but two lanes reopened at 5 a.m. All lanes reopened at about 6:15 a.m.
