When the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Calgary Flames, dashing the team’s Stanley Cup hopes, no one may have been more upset than the Canadian city’s mayor.
Naheed Nenshi is by all accounts a die-hard Flames fan, and in the spirit of many good-natured postseason bets between local officials, he took his team pride in hand when he made a wager with Anaheim mayor Tom Tait.
Nenshi held up his end of the bargain at a Calgary City Council meeting Monday, wearing a Ducks jersey during his a cappella performance of the Disney "Frozen" theme song "Let It Be," seen in a video recorded by CBC/Radio-Canada.
He’ll also reportedly be making a donation to A. C. T Anaheim, a Ducks-funded charity that helps at-risk youth in Orange County.
