A 5-year-old boy was shot in the arm and his mother was struck in the chest in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles on Saturday, police said.
The shooting took place at 97th Street and Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.
The boy and his mother, who is in her 20s, were taken to the hospital. Police said they were both in stable condition.
Police were searching for four males in connection with the shooting, which was believed to be gang-related. There were no additional details provided.
