An elderly woman was fatally struck Monday night while walking through a street in Santa Clarita, deputies said.
Deputies received a call around 11:30 p.m. about "debris" in Orchard Village Road. Deputies arrived and found a woman lying in the lanes. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The victim was described as a white female in her 60s. Deputies received reports earlier about the woman walking in the center median lane, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
Deputies said the collision was a hit-and-run and had no description of the suspect's vehicle.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
