Lakers Announce Which Company's Logo They'll Wear on Jerseys

The Lakers will debut the patch Sept. 30 as part of a multi-year partnership

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday an advertising deal with online- and mobile-shopping company Wish that will place a patch with the retailer's logo on the front of players' jerseys.

"We are thrilled to welcome Wish as a new partner of the Los Angeles Lakers," said Tim Harris, the team's president of business operations and chief operating officer. "When it came to the jersey patch, knowing its prominent placement, our goal was to partner with an innovative and ambitious global company. Wish more than checks that box."

The patch — which will be on the upper left of players' jerseys, opposite the Nike logo — will make its debut Sept. 30 when the Lakers open the preseason against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Honda Center in Anaheim. The patch will also appear on jerseys for the minor league South Bay Lakers and on jerseys for the Junior Lakers.

According to the team, the advertising deal with Wish will also include "in-arena fan engagement, social and digital activation," and the team will partner with the company on Southland "community initiatives." Team officials described the deal as "multi-year partnership."
