Police are searching for a man accused of running over two teen girls - including one pregnant with his child - and seriously injuring them both, before fleeing the scene.
A man accused of running over two teen girls - including one pregnant with his child - and seriously injuring them both, surrendered to police, officials said Wednesday.
Miguel Angel Jimenez, 18, was taken into custody in connection with the hit-and-run, police said.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 11500 block of Hunnewell Avenue. Both girls were hospitalized, but details regarding their conditions were not immediately available.
Los Angeles police say Jimenez arrived at his ex-girlfriend's house with another girl, who exited his vehicle and began fighting with the ex-girlfriend.
When more family members came out of the house, Jimenez drove away and struck the two girls, both 17, investigators said. He was driving at silver 2007 Dodger Charger with dealer plates.
Family members said the ex-girlfriend is pregnant. She suffered a punctured lung and other serious injuries, a relative told NBC4's Jacob Rascon.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this report incorrectly identified the suspect as Miguel Angel Sanchez.
