A man was found suffering from a fatal gunshot wound in South Los Angeles Monday night, police said.
The shooting was reported around 11:15 p.m. at 53rd Street and Compton Avenue near a recreational park, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim, in his 40s, suffered a gunshot wound to his back. He died while being transported to a hospital, according to the LAPD.
Police said callers reported witnessing a group of at least three people when the shooting occurred.
There was no description of the suspected shooters, according to the LAPD.
The shooting was under investigation.
