Police Search for Robbers Who Assaulted Woman in Her San Marino Home

Police were searching for two men suspected of breaking into a home in San Marino and assaulting the owner early Tuesday morning, police said.

The robbery was reported around 1:10 a.m. in the 1800 block of Sharon Place, according to the San Marino Police Department.

The victim told police she was sleeping in the spare bedroom when she heard a noise in her living room and thought it was her husband. She walked to the living room and saw a man wearing dark clothing searching through her closet, according to a news release from the San Marino Police Department.

The male robber grabbed the victim by her hair and forced her into the bedroom. A second robber then appeared, walking out of her bathroom, according to the news release.

The first robber demanded the woman open her safe at knife point, but she refused. The man then struck her face against the safe and again demanded she open it. The victim complied and was thrown onto her bed and struck again by the assailant, and ordered not to leave, according to the news release.

The robbers took items from the safe and then fled from the home, according to the news release.

Police officers established a perimeter near Rose Avenue and Sycamore Drive to find the suspected robbers, according to San Marino Police Department.

The first suspect was described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. The other suspect was described as 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build.
