Santa Ana Hit-and-Run Leaves Man Dead



    A hit-and-run driver was still on the run Monday afternoon after striking and killing a 64-year-old in Santa Ana Oct. 10, 2016.

    A pedestrian was killed Monday by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Ana, police said.

    The 64-year-old victim was struck by a pickup truck about 5:50 a.m. on First Street between Sullivan and Fairview streets. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

    A man in Santa Ana was struck and killed while crossing the street. The driver of the pickup truck that hit him fled the scene, and now police are asking the public for help tracking down the vehicle. Lolita Lopez reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016.

    The hit-and-run vehicle was a white, single-cab Toyota Tacoma with damage to the hood, Bertagna said. Police did not have a description of the driver.

    Police withheld the victim's name pending family notification.
