24-Year-Old Man Killed in Newport Beach Hit-and-Run; Woman Arrested

A 21-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead in Newport Beach on Saturday, police said.

A vehicle driving on Newport Boulevard near 30th Street struck a pedestrian and took off just after 1 a.m., according to the Newport Beach Police Department.

The Orange County Coroner's office identified the victim as Christopher Roth, 24, of Cypress. Roth was transported to a hospital where he later died. 

Nancy Diana Flores, a 21-year-old resident of Paramount, was arrested in connection with the crash. 

Police said they found Flores' vehicle about 10 blocks away on 19th and Court streets near the Newport Beach Pier. Flores was arrested at her home just before 7:30 a.m. She faces charges for manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death, police said. 

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
