Two Wounded in Willowbrook Strip Mall Shooting

Two people were wounded when gunfire broke out at a Willowbrook strip mall Thursday morning, officials said.

The shooting was reported at 10:48 a.m. in the 600 block of El Segundo Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

One of the victims, a 22-year-old woman who was with her husband and young child, was struck in the leg.

The bullets hit a cement retaining wall, striking one of the young men on the sidewalk several times in the legs. He ran into a dollar store.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, where they were in stable condition.

Sheriff's investigators did not immediately provide information on the shooter or a motive. They were searching for an older model, silver-colored car, possibly a Pontiac.

Aaron Jordan and his brother Nathan were selling Super Bowl T-shirts on the sidewalk when Jordan said a masked man pulled up in a car, yelled out a name and fired about five rounds.

"He probably had some beef with him or something," Jordan said. "He just came up, started shooting after the person's name."

Investigators are looking for surveillance video from nearby businesses to see if the shooting was caught on tape.
