An Ohio bus driver who was shot twice in the chest credited a Bible he was carrying in his shirt pocket with saving his life, NBC’s “Today” show reported. Ricky Wagoner, of Dayton, said he fought off three men who accosted him Monday morning as he was trying to repair his broken down bus. The trio also shot him in the leg and stabbed him in the arm. He stabbed one of them with a pen before he “took the gun and knife away from them and shot at them,” he told reporters. Investigators later found a pair of bullets lodged in a copy “The Message,” a contemporary translation of the New Testament Wagoner had begun carrying in his pocket last week.
