CARMEL DAYS: Joie de Vivre has several Cali hotels going, each with their own feel and art and atmos and name. Now it has brought another property into the fashionable fold, and this one has a certain Carmel flavor. Joie de Vivre is now managing the large (like nearly 500-acres large) and lovely Carmel Valley Ranch, which just underwent a huge renov. (When one uses "atmos" you have to use "renov," of course.) CVR is now open, post-renov, and is specialing it up for guests who want to check out the new vibe and new management.
DEAL THROUGH DEC. 31: The resort is offering a $300/night deal, but you'll want to get on that before the end of the year. Enjoy autumn in the soft Carmel hills. Golf. Dressy dining. And potential wandering deer to coo over. And that brisk fogginess that the Monterey Peninsula kind of owns this time of year. Brogginess? Maybe that's the word.
