MERRY-ACHI CHRISTMAS: Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, year after year, puts out a really memorable slate of seasonal shows. This spectacular devoted to the sounds of mariachi runs tonight and tomorrow. On the stage: Sol de México de José Hernández and Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, which is the "first all female mariachi ensemble" in the country. Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company joins.
THE CRANBERRIES: It has been the better part of a decade since this Irish group, a group that influenced plenty of other bands back in the early '90s, toured. So that shows are selling out is no surprise. Nor will it be any surprise when you remember every single word to "Linger," a song that still gets a lot of play, even some 16 years after its release.
