Canter's Delicatessen, that neon-y, night-owl-ish, booth-laden palace of pastrami, is marking its 60th year on Fairfax today with one mouthwatering deal: hot corned beef sandwiches for 60 cents between noon and midnight.
Six dimes, people. Add onto that, at no extra charge, a pucker-your-mouth pickle, a smidge of potato salad and a tummy-pleasing rugula, and you're looking at a true feast. Twelve nickels. That's it. As if the pleasure of sitting in one of the city's great restaurants, under that psychedelic ceiling made out of photos of fall trees, isn't gift enough.
