Orange County-based Oakley has just launched a line of technical outerwear and lifestyle apparel and accessories in collaboration with Olympics and X Games snowboard champion Gretchen Bleiler. The 17-piece Gretchen Bleiler Signature Series includes sunglasses, goggles, jackets, totes, hats, tops and pants, and ranges from $26-$300. This is the first time Oakley has collabed with a single athlete on such an extensive collection, and, per the release, Bleiler's hand can be seen in elements such as her signature lion motif and "the button system added to the back of the pant leg to keep it from dragging. The jackets have an asymmetrical zipper with leather snaps across and a removable fur-trim on the hood to give it a designer feel. The pants are low-rise and boot-cut with a belt to accessorize, offering a relaxed performance fit but with a more flattering slimness than conventional designs today." The collection, available online, also utilizes eco-minded recycled materials. Did someone say Mammoth?
