OC Doc in Sexual Battery Case Out on Bail

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A doctor arrested Friday at his Garden Grove home on suspicion of sexual battery by fraud was free Monday on $100,000 bail, an official said.

David Hung Do, 38, a general practitioner at Kaiser Permanente facilities in La Palma and Anaheim, is accused of inappropriately touching three woman between the ages of 28 to 46 years old at Kaiser hospitals and urgent care centers between July 2007 and June, said Farrah Emami of the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

A date for his arraignment in Fullerton on three felony counts of sexual battery has not been set, Emami said. Do faces up to six years in prison if convicted, Emami said.

Do is accused of sexually battering the women during routine medical exams.

Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said that in one case, the woman sought treatment for pain to the neck and shoulder, but he touched her in an area "that was not even close" to where the pain was.

A woman complained about the touching to Kaiser in June, and a second alleged victim, who does not know the first woman, complained in July, Emami said.

Kaiser contacted Anaheim police, and the third woman was located by detectives, Martinez said.

Anyone with additional information about the case or who may have been victimized was asked to call Anaheim police Detective Brian Hayes at 714-765-1929 or Supervising District Attorney Investigator Ed Berakovich at 714-834-7538.
