“Rad” Bike Night at the Hammer

It's a free, free-wheeling, wheelie-poppin' party.

CicLAvia wasn't citywide, but the Sunday, April 10 bike event covered a lot of area in and around downtown. Moreover, it captured fancies, which can't be measured in square footage, but can be guessed at by the number of stories and videos coming from the well-attended event.

Plus, just anecdotally? The helmeted masses looked like they were having a ball. Which isn't always the case with huge to-dos. So. Thank you, CicLAvia.

If you're still feeling the spirit of enjoying your bike, and attending a free thing in which to enjoy that enjoyment, make for the Hammer Museum on Thursday, April 14. It's Bike Night, the institution's admission-free ode to the spokely pursuits, and, as always, there's a packed, pedal-ful bill.

The centerpiece of the night is a screening of "Rad" from 1986. BMXery to the extreme. We mean, xtreme. But pretty bikes will also be on display, there will be free bike portraits, and other cycle-ish stuff afoot. Or, um. A-pedal.

You'll want to roll in on Lindbrook Drive, note. More details on the night here.
