Save on Taste of The Nation

If you were shut out from Evan Kleiman’s sold out food truck event on Sunday in Santa Monica, and the Cochon 555 porkfest at Vibiana downtown later that evening (also sold out), there are a few other cool things to do this weekend, and next week, in the name of charity.

Taste of the Nation will be back at Media Park in Culver City on June 12, with every top restaurant from Beechwood to The Bazaar donating their resources. Leading up to this charitable mega-food-festival are a few fundraisers where you can purchase dicounted tickets to the event. First up is this Sunday, May 1, from 2 to 5 P.M. Drop by Domaine LA on Melrose, where $15 pairings of wines and small plates will lead to $15 off TOTN tickets.

Tuesday, May 3 brings a five-course dinner, with five beer pairings, for $49 at Steingarten LA from 7 to 10 P.M. The eatery will donate $1 from every brew purchased from the 13 featured beers from The Bruery to Taste of the Nation. If the crowd drinks all the kegs, $1,400 will be raised. For reservations call 310-441-0441.

On Thursday, May 5, the SLS Hotel will host a Bogart Wine Aficionado Dinner which benefits the Bogart Cancer Research labs at Children’s Hospital LA. This event will feature some of the world’s finest wines along with a four-course dinner with Chef Jose Andres’ food. Tickets are $1,250 per person or $10,000 per table of ten, and can be booked by calling 323-330-0509 or e-mailing info@bogartfoundation.org.
