LOS ANGELES -- Attention, nihilists and any urban achiever out there in Los Angeles: tickets go on sale Friday for Lebowski Fest LA 2009.

The event begins with a movie party on May 7 at the Wiltern Theater, located at 3790 Wilshire Blvd. (nowhere near the In-N-Out Burger).

On May 8, the fest heads to Cal Bowl, located at 2500 E. Carson St. in Lakewood, for "costumes, trivia, bowling and other contests," according to the festival's website.

The festival began in 2002 in Louisville, and has since branched out to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, Austin, Seattle, London and Edinburgh, according to group's site.

According to lebowskifest.com:

Lebowski Fest is a celebration of all things related to the 1998 Coen brothers cult comedy, "The Big Lebowski." Fans of the film (aka "Achievers") come from far and wide to drink white Russians, throw some rocks and party with an array of Dudes, Walters and Maudes (not to mention a nihilist or two). It's a two-day party that typically opens with live performances and screening of the film the first night and concludes with a raucous bowling party the following night.

Tickets go on sale March 6 at 9 a.m. For more information, visit lebowskifest.com.
