Witnesses said a driver was revving his engine, burning rubber and speeding through a parking lot early Friday morning before he struck four people, then ran from the chaotic scene in Bellflower.
The four victims, three men and a woman, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. One suffered a serious leg injury.
They were leaving a bar at about 2 a.m. near Woodruff Avenue and Foster Road when the driver of a Scion tC jumped a curb, plowed into signs, hit a parked car and slammed into them on a sidewalk.
He was chased down by a group of people after leaving the scene, according to witnesses. The driver was transported by paramedics and later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
