Detective were investigating the discovery of a dead man near the 605 Freeway in Irwindale Sunday, according to police.
The body of a male in his 50s was discovered near a bike path by the San Gabriel riverbed on Rivergrade Road.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was on scene to investigate along with Irwindale police.
The body appeared to have cuts and bruises and may have plummeted 100 feet from the 605 Freeway to the rocks below.
Detectives said they don't believe the person was homeless as they found jewelry, a watch, and keys on him.
The bike path area where the body was discovered was in a remote area that was inaccessible to vehicles.
No information was available on who found the remains.
