Burglars Smash Window, Break into Pharmacy in Burbank

Authorities were searching for two men caught on surveillance video breaking into a pharmacy in Burbank after smashing a window in an attempt to steal narcotics, police said.

The burglary occurred Feb. 24 around 5:15 a.m. on North Glenoaks Boulevard, according to the Burbank Police Department.

Two men could been seen on video throwing a boulder at the store window, shattering the glass before the pair run inside the pharmacy. Police released the surveillance video on Tuesday in hopes that the men would be identified.

The burglars attempted to access a secured area where the narcotics were stored, but could not gain entry into that area, police said.

The two attempted to open the register, but could not open the drawer, police said.

Both men fled the scene on foot and left with the contents of the register, police said.

Investigators were trying to determine if those men were connected to a string of burglaries at drug stores in the area.
