Workshops Aim to Help Humans Co-Exist With Coyotes

As coyote sightings increase, LA Animal Services offers wildlife workshops to local communities.

Los Angeles Animal Services is offering wildlife workshops for the rest of the year.

The workshops are in response to an increase in coyote sightings, something that happens annually in August because pups born in the spring are becoming more visible as they start to hunt with their packs.

The workshops hope to help local communities learn how to coexist with their wildlife neighbor by providing information about coyote behavior.

They are:

  • Why local wildlife is essential to a healthy ecosystem;
  • How to avoid attracting coyotes into residential neighborhoods;
  • Effective ways to scare coyotes back to the woods.
