Assistance Center to Open for People Affected by Getty Fire

An assistance center will open Sunday for residents affected by the Getty Fire in the Sepulveda Pass.

City, county and state officials will stationed at the facility, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the Westwood Recreation Center, 1350 S. Sepulveda Blvd.

The center will offer residents assistance on topics such as replacing records lost in a fire, filing insurance claims and applying for disaster assistance. The center will also provide information on property cleanup, repair and rebuilding.

As of Friday morning, the Getty Fire had destroyed 10 homes and damaged 15 others.
