Los Angeles County officials are offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who has information leading to the arrest of a man who carjacked a man, kidnapped and threatened to kill two people last month.
On July 19, the man approached a group of people parked in a Cadillac Escalade in Alondra Park when he forcibly took the keys from the 67-year-old driver, punched him in the face and threw him to the ground, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Detective Janice Banks said last month.
He then drove away with two people in the back seat, leaving the driver outside, and crashed into two cars. He threatened to kill the victims in the back as they pleaded he let them go, officials said.
Police described the man, shown in a sketch above, as black, 20 to 25 years old with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet 1 inch tall, 170 lbs., with a thin build and medium complexion.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering the $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the man, the board announced last week.
