At Least 6 Hurt, 210 Freeway Lanes Shut Down After Big Rig Crash in Arcadia

At least six people were injured and both sides of the 210 Freeway in Arcadia were shut down Monday night after a big rig hauling cars crashed into the center divider and exploded in flames.

The crash took place just after 7 p.m. when the driver of the big rig lost control and collided with several other cars, sending it and other vehicles into flames, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Two vehicles that were on the eastbound side ended up on the westbound lanes, and the big rig came to rest on the center divider wall, said CHP spokesman. Ryan Bejar.

As of 10:45 p.m., traffic remained backed up for miles on the 210 Freeway. Two lanes were open on the westbound side and three lanes were open on the eastbound side.

CHP officials said all lanes reopened at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
