LOS ANGELES -- "Hey, when you (explicative) ball, you let it be known, you ball," Joel Otten said in between a game of hoops at Muscle Beach on Tuesday.
Looks like "No Cussing Week" is off to a rough start.
In case you were unaware, swearing is a no-no all this week in Los Angeles County.
Pasadena resident, McKay Hatch, who founded the No Cussing Club two years ago as a middle school student, was scheduled to receive a scroll honoring his work in a ceremony arranged by county Supervisor Michael Antonovich.
Although Hatch and Antonovich would prefer you keep the language on the up-and-up this week, the message obviously hasn't made it out to the Venice Beach Boardwalk.
"Freedom of speech -- you can do whatever you want," Otten said.
Pam Parsons, a visitor to Venice didn't agree with Otten.

"I think it's nicer when people don't have to use expletives to describe things," Parsons said.
Hatch, 15, is the author of "The No Cussing Club: How I Fought Peer Pressure and How You Can Too."
