A person died after being flung from their car when they crashed during a high speed race on a freeway in Westchester Saturday.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, which spun out and hit the central divider on the 90 Freeway at Centinela Avenue just after 1 a.m, A California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The person, who was the only rider in the car, died at the scene.
Police said another vehicle was involved in the race, but it is unknown where
A sig alert was issued for the eastbound 90 Freeway east of Centinela Avenue just after 1am, and the number four and the on-ramp was open at 2:30 a.m. The other lanes remain closed for unknown duration.
