Fight Continues Over 2-Year-Old in OC

An appeal has been filed on behalf of an Orange County woman who is in a custody battle with the Ohio father of a 2-year-old girl she's raised since birth and wants  to adopt.

Attorney John Dodd said he filed the notice of appeal Tuesday on behalf of Stacey Doss.

On Friday, Orange County Superior Court Judge Michael Naughton relinquished jurisdiction in the case to Ohio, where 2-year-old
Vanessa was born.

Naughton ordered that Doss return Vanessa to Ohio authorities by July 16.

Doss says Vanessa's birth mother contacted Doss' adoption agency in 2008 to give up the child for adoption.

The child's birth father filed a motion seeking custody before the adoption was completed.
