A toddler who was abandoned overnight at The Grove shopping center has been placed in a home while child protective services investigates why she was left there, authorities said.
The girl, who gave her name as Audrey to police, was reunited with her father Sunday after a woman left her with a car seat in The Grove's Valet Parking area Satuday. The Department of Children and Family Services isn't saying if she's in the relative's or parents' home or a foster home.
"DCFS has ensured that the child is in a safe home," the department said in a press release.
DCFS does not discuss details of its investigations involving children, due to state privacy laws, the release said.
