A homeowner climbed on a rooftop Monday and used a garden hose to fight a fire at his San Marino home.
Video captured the man standing on the roof of an attached garage in at the home in the 1700 block of Warwick Road. Firefighters soon arrived and knocked down the fire.
Neighbor Allen Wu was walking his dog when he saw flames shooting through the house's roof. The fire burned for about five minutes, but caused significant damage, he said.
"Taller than the trees," said Wu. "All the roof is gone. The fire was so quick, unbelievably quick. Five minutes and whole roof is gone."
No injuries were reported.
