Lil' Wayne and his "bitches" and "hos" will not be welcome at the Arcadia High prom.
Thanks to the school's Women's Health and Issues Club, administrators have agreed to ban 20 songs with misogynistic themes and lyrics. The group originally wanted 300 songs eliminated from the prom playlist, the Pasadena Star-News reported.
"Some of the songs call women 'bitches' and 'hos,' or refer to them as objects and treat them like animals. We find that offensive," student Madeline Conrique told the newspaper.
Conrique says the club wasn't trying to be a buzzkill. They just wanted to remove songs that denigrate or sexually exploit women.
Senior Lani Luo told the newspaper that "We are not trying to push for abstinence. We are just trying to advocate for respect."
