If your holiday plans include air travel, you may want to try Ontario. Slightly more passengers are expected to pass through LAX this year during Thanksgiving, but Ontario International Airport is forecasting an 8 percent drop in traffic, airport officials predicted Thursday.
An estimated 1.49 million passengers are expected to go through LAX between tomorrow and next Sunday, which is 1.1 percent more than last year.
L.A./Ontario International Airport expecting 123,500 passengers, which is down 8.8 percent from last year.
Both airports expect their busiest days to be Friday, Nov. 20; Wednesday, Nov. 25; and Sunday, Nov. 29.
Airlines says most of their flights will be 80 percent full, and some will be fully booked.
Los Angeles World Airports, the agency which manages both airports, urged passengers to arrive at LAX two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights, especially during peak travel periods -- 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Travelers at L.A./Ontario airport were urged to arrive 90 minutes before domestic flights and two hours before international flights serving Mexico.
