San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies arrested a woman in an Adelanto trailer park after she allegedly ate methamphetamine while her 4-year-old child sat on her lap.
Joanne Marie Lanfor, 35, and Christopher Breed, 25 were arrested for possession of meth and willful cruelty to a child. The child was placed in protective custody.
An earlier version of this story reported that the child was a girl based on information provided by the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. Trailer Park Manager June Benevides and several park residents identified the child as Lanfor's son.
Three other adults were arrested for being under the influence of drugs, according to police.
Management at the park and police suspected a drug deal was about to take place.
Deputies served a search warrant at the home in an unrelated case. It was not known if Lanfor ate the drugs in an attempt to destroy evidence or if she was taking the drugs.
