Authorities say the suspect targets cars in underground parking lots of apartment buildings

Police released video Friday of an alleged thief responsible for a rash of car break-ins and at least one car theft in Koreatown.

The suspect targets cars in underground parking lots of apartment buildings, smashing rear windows to get access and grabbing valuable property. Detectives believe he was involved in at least 20 break-ins at buildings throughout Koreatown over the last five months.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing between 230 and 280 pounds. He was wearing eyeglasses, a gray shirt, a gray hooded sweat shirt, black shorts and white tennis shoes.
