Possibly Mentally Ill Man Dies In LAPD Shooting

Los Angeles police fatally shot a possibly mentally ill man Thursday.
The officer-involved shooting occurred about 12:30 p.m. in the 8300 block of Burnet Avenue, near Roscoe Boulevard, said Officer April Harding of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man, in his 20s, was taken to a hospital where he died at 4:10 p.m., Harding said.
His name was not released.
Preliminary reports indicate officers went to the location in response to a report of a man with a mental illness, said Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera, adding that is when the officer-involved shooting occurred.
No officers were hurt.
