One person died and three people were injured, including a young child, in three apparently separate and random freeway shootings in 24 hours on two Southern California freeways.
The shootings happened on the 710 and 91 freeways, several miles from each other and several hours apart.
The last shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in Paramount.
The young child in the backseat suffered minor injuries from the window shattering.

The Tuesday evening shooting just before 6 p.m. on the 710 Freeway near Alondra Boulevard prompted another freeway shutdown, the third in less than 24 hours as CHP investigators looked for shell casings.
The distraught driver, who was not injured, told police someone in an SUV opened fire on her car. The man in her passenger seat and a young child in the back were hurt.
"From the preliminary investigation, it looks like it may have been from the window, glass that shattered," said Officer Marco Lizarraga, a CHP spokesman. "I'm shocked as you are. This isn't common."

The first shooting, which was fatal, happened overnight on the 710 Freeway in Cudahy. Someone in a black car shot a driver.
That victim managed to call 911, but died at the hospital about 10 miles away. About 10 hours later on the 91 Freeway near Main Street in Carson, someone in a black car shot at a black Kia, injuring the woman passenger, who was in serious but stable condition.
The CHP offered this advice to all drivers.
"We see hundreds, thousands traveling the freeway where none of this occurs," Lizarraga said. "If you see something, say something."
