A 20-year-old woman was rescued Friday after she became stranded while hiking on a steep hillside in the Bronson Canyon area of Griffith Park.
The hiker's plight in the area of 3200 North Canyon Drive was reported just before 6 p.m., according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Images from the scene showed her clinging to loose rocks that complicated the rescue efforts. After a little more than an hour, firefighters and urban search and rescue personnel using ropes and a harness lowered the woman to safety, Stewart said.
